My birth schedule is full until September 2025 due dates.  I will consider special cases of twins and breech at any time. 

When choosing homebirth midwife care you are getting an incredible value for this one-on-one, tailored to your individual needs, collaborative care. My base package price is $5250 and I do offer a discount for early pay or handling your own insurance billing.  There are also additional discounts for those who have previously had a homebirth. The average cost for a basic uncomplicated hospital birth in Minnesota ranges from $12,000-18,000.

Some companies exclude homebirth from coverage and some do not. Recently, Blue Cross and United Health Care have covered. Many companies may cover the prenatal portion of the care even if they won't cover the birth portion. Your reimbursement from insurance depends largely upon your out-of- network deductible and co-pay amounts. I can assist you with getting an estimate of what your out-of-pocket cost may be as well as helping with requests to cover home birth care at in-network rates. I do not know of any home birth midwives that are in-network with insurance companies, however, some birth centers are in network with several companies.

The price includes up to 14 regular prenatal visits, birthkit, use of an inflatable birth tub, labor, birth and immediate postpartum care for mom and baby, birth assistant fee, meds and newborn screening for baby if desired and up to 4 postpartum visits. Home visits are scheduled for 36 weeks and the first two postpartum visits are in your home.  Following the birth there is a complete examination of the newborn and commemorative footprints completed. I also file your birth certificate information and social security card request. I serve clients in Minnesota for a birth within 75 miles of my home in Zimmerman.

 The price does not include laboratory testing, birth pool supplies (hose and liner), any referred services such as ultrasound or care by other providers including a hospital transfer if necessary, additional fees for twins or childbirth classes. Placenta encapsulation is not included but is an available service provided under separate contract at a lower rate for Wildflower birth clients. 

 Yes! I still offer all in-home visits for those living within 40 miles of Zimmerman. There is an additional fee of $250 for 1-20 miles from Zimmerman and $500 for 21-40 miles 

 I have offices in Zimmerman and Buffalo. I also offer all in-home visits if you reside within 40 miles of Zimmerman. Currently I do visits on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I also offer home visits for lactation consults.

 If you are interested in a home birth and want to meet with me, please send me a message through my contact page or give me a call. We can chat and cover some initial screening questions to determine if you are a good candidate for a homebirth.  Then we can discuss a meeting time and place for a no obligation interview. Interviews usually last about an hour and are available in day or evening hours. If we decide to work together I will ask you to sign a contract and provide a $500 deposit. I take a small number of clients due each month and your deposit ensures you a place. 

 At your first appointment we will go over your health history including any previous pregnancy and delivery. We will discuss your current pregnancy symptoms and how it has been going to that point. We will complete any remaining paperwork and I will do a keep-your-clothes-on mini physical. If you are 10 weeks or more we can listen to baby with the doppler. If you choose to use the fetascope only, we can hear baby after 20 weeks. I will also do your initial blood draw for the OB panel which includes blood type, rubella status, HIV, Hep B & C, Syphilis, CBC, and antibody status. We will discuss nutrition and exercise and I will answer any questions you have. The first appointment usually lasts about one to one and a half hours.
